CLIC is excited to announce the addition of John M. Eger to our Board of Advisors. Professor Eger currently serves as the Director of the Creative Economy Initiative at San Diego State University, while also serving as the Lionel Van Deerlin Endowed Chair of Communications and Public Policy. Other positions for which he is well known include being President of the Smart Communities Foundation, Senior Vice President of CBS responsible for worldwide enterprises (which opened China to commercial television), Telecommunications Adviser to Presidents Nixon and Ford, and Director of the White House Office of Telecommunication Policy.
John’s publications include the seminal “Guidebook for Smart Communities,” a “how to” for communities struggling to compete in the age of the Internet; and “The Creative Community: Linking Art, Culture, Commerce and Community,” a call to action to reinvent our communities for the Creative Age.
CLIC looks forward to the outstanding contributions Professor Eger will bring to our Board, as highlighted by his recent signature contribution to Huffington Post’s “The Blog:” If Mayors Ruled the World Today…They would Launch Digital Cities Tomorrow.”
